The Story Behind the Name Soulora
Soulora was born from the belief that dance is more than movement. It’s a reflection of our innermost self. The name is rooted in soul, because dance, at its purest, rises from within. It’s a way to express our most authentic, vulnerable selves, free from judgment and full of truth.
The butterfly, which represents our brand, carries deep personal meaning. To me, it symbolizes transformation, growth, and the resilience that comes through change. Much like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, dance allows us to evolve, to spread our wings, and to embrace who we truly are.
The name is also inspired by Psyche, the Greek goddess of the soul, whose name means both “soul” and “butterfly.” This beautiful connection reminds us that movement is spiritual and that every step, every breath, every motion can awaken something sacred within us.
At Soulora, we invite you to dance with soul, to move like wings in flight, and to honour the spirit that lives in every moment of motion.
Georgie Somers
Hi, I’m Georgie Somers, and dance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a family where movement and music were woven into our everyday lives, it felt only natural for me to step into the spotlight and follow in the footsteps of my aunties, who inspired my love for the stage.
From the age of 5, I’ve been performing with our family’s dance company, competing nationally across Europe and living every moment with passion. I’ve completed my IDTA examinations, including my professional dance
teacher qualification, under the guidance of Lisa McLean.
At just 16, I began choreographing competition routines and show pieces and a creative spark ignited, that’s only grown stronger over time. My journey has taken me through a performance diploma at WAPA and advanced training with Aaron Dwyer at the London Dance Company. Each experience has shaped not just my skills, but my deep belief in the power of dance to transform lives.
In 2025 I had the chance to teach at Move It, one of the biggest dance conventions in the world! I am so excited to say I will be going back for Move It 2026!
More than anything, I care about people. I’ve always wanted to create a space where others feel seen, heard, and supported. A place to express, to grow, and to be themselves without fear or judgement.
Soulora is that vision brought to life, a dance company rooted in soul, spirit, and authenticity. My personal journey has taught me that anything is possible, even when life throws its biggest challenges. And through Soulora, I hope to inspire others to believe the same.
Emma Jayne
Hi, I’m Emma. Dance and performing have always been at the heart of who I am. From the very first class I took, I completely fell in love with dance, and that passion has never left me.
What began as a school hobby quickly grew into something much bigger. I’ve studied both in and outside of school, trained at WAPA Academy, completed IDTA exams, competed in National Championships, and sought
out training with industry professionals whenever I can.
During lockdown, when classes stopped, I felt a huge gap in my life. That’s when Georgie and I pushed each other to keep dancing, and attended classes together. This reminded me just how much I need it.
For me, dance is empowerment. It’s confidence. It’s freedom. It allows me to express emotions, connect my mind and body, and let go through movement and choreography. It’s both an art and a form of therapy and self-love.
I dance because it makes me feel alive, powerful, and truly myself. Being able to share that joy, teaching others how movement can build confidence and even change lives, is the greatest gift.
Shannon Aspey
Hi, I’m Shannon Aspey, and I’ve recently graduated with honours in Dance for Commercial Performance from University Centre Weston.
I’ve been passionate about dance from a young age, beginning my journey with Georgie at The Dance Academy in Clevedon. In 2022, I went on to train at UCW, where I had the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s top professionals. During my time there, I took part in numerous showcases and concept videos, and had the incredible experience of performing three times at MOVE IT, one of the biggest dance events
in the world! I was also part of the FEAR dance group, performing in shows every weekend throughout October.
Teaching has already been such a rewarding part of my journey. I had the amazing opportunity to teach a class at MOVE IT 2025 and have also covered various Commercial and Heels classes in Bristol. I’m so excited to bring my experience and energy back to Somerset, share my training, and introduce a fresh style to Soulora, with more classes to come!
Malia, Matilda and Paige
All these girls I have met through dance and they have been by my side ever since joining. Their loyalty to me is unmatched so again I couldn’t think of a better team to help me run the craziness that is now my life.
I believe that we meet people that are supposed to be in our life’s and all these girls have definitely made my life better by being in it! I’m super grateful that they wanted the responsibility to handle our media/socials.
Please meet Malia, Matilda and Paige!
